In case the highly unusual list of Republican endorsements for Kamala Harris isn't enough...
I get it, Republicans have a reputation of being smarter on the economy. (Though historically, Democratic presidents have done better.)
But Trump vs Harris is different! You're right, it is! Trump's economic plans are so bad, in the Wall Street Journal's survey of economists, they overwhelmingly predict that inflation and deficits will be way worse under Trump's plan than Harris's; and 23 Nobel Economists (representing winners from 18 of the last 25 years) signed a letter supporting Harris's economic agenda over Trump's.
Vote Republican for Congress if you want, but the economy will be better off in Harris's hands than Trump's.
Senator Bernie Sanders has a direct message for you:
I’ve been all over the country in the last month. And I get asked the same question, over and over again: “I disagree with Kamala’s position on the war in Gaza. How can I vote for her?” Here is my answer.
— Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) October 28, 2024
Bottom line, if you care about the Palestinians in Gaza, Harris is still the better choice.
“The most conservative value there is: to defend the Constitution.” — Liz Cheney, who feels so strongly, she is actively campaigning for Harris despite their policy disagreements
“Sometimes you have to say American first, conservative second, Republican third.” — Joan London, a Nikki Haley supporter in Pennsylvania voting for Harris
Trump is not a conservative. He's a radical who wants to remake the Presidency into an office that serves the person who is President, not the Constitution.
This isn't a baseless accusation from the Democrats—it's
Trump's own chief of staff saying this.
If you want to vote for conservative values like upholding the Constitution,
national security,
and the rule of law,
vote Harris for President.
Trump's closest White House colleagues,
former core supporters of his presidency
including his own Vice President, Mike Pence;
his own chief of staff, John Kelly;
his own attorney general, Bill Bar;
his own secretary of defense, Mark Esper;
all find him unfit for office.
Even members of Trump's own family
are telling you he's untrustworthy.
Why do you think you know him better than these people?
You want to tell that to a woman dying
because the hospital is too afraid of being sued to operate?
Politics have consequences.
If you want to be entertained, I promise you

will find plenty of ways to make fun of a President Harris.

Harris's plans are not any less detailed than Trump's.
Unless you're talking about Project 2025?
In any case, Congress is supposed to set policy, not the President.
But you seriously think Trump is better?
In any case, I'll take “needs improvement” over “vengeful dictator wannabe” any day.
Let's have a reality check.
Quoting from Trump's own former Chief of Staff:
Here's that definition, btw:
a far-right authoritarian, ultranationalist political ideology and movement characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy
Trump loves dictators.
He openly admires Russia's Putin, China's Xi, Turkey's Erdoğan, and North Korea's Kim Jong Un for their powerful, iron-fisted rule.
He regularly demonizes immigrants and insults the disabled, including veterans.
Regardless of whether Trump fits the definition of a fascist,
are these the kind of American values you want in the White House?
It's not just admiration.
Trump has openly threatened to use his position as President
to go after his political opponents.
He has threatened the press,
suggested executing his critics,
and proposed to use military power on US soil for domestic matters.
Trump's first-term staff repeatedly refused to enable
actions outside the limits of presidential authority;
but this next term he will have learned to choose people loyal to him, not the Constitution—and will have the Supreme Court's immunity ruling backing their actions.
This is why so many of Trump's former White House staff are,
if not endorsing Harris,
at least publicly declaring their opposition to another Trump presidency.
It is highly unusual for this many high-ranking members of a political party,
particularly his own staff,
to publicly oppose their own presidential candidate.
What do they know that you are not taking into consideration?
“(Trump’s) understanding of global events, his understanding of global history, his understanding of US history was really limited. It’s really hard to have a conversation with someone who doesn’t even understand the concept for why we’re talking about this.” — Rex Tillerson,
Trump's Secretary of State
Certainly the former president is in the far-right area, he’s certainly an authoritarian, admires people who are dictators... falls into the general definition of fascist, for sure.
Kelly's account is backed up by over a dozen other former White House staff members.
His former national security advisor John Bolton agrees Trump is dangerous,
but disputes the label only because
fascism is an ideology and “Trump isn't capable of philosophical thought”.
